Simple Tricks To Increase Ad Performance

Updated: Sep 26, 2024

A lot of businesses run ads that just ramble on, without ever getting in the vicinity of a point. You see examples of this every day, and it leaves the reader confused, as they continue scrolling.

Without a purpose, you cannot measure results. Now, this may be them hiding from the fact their ads do not perform… but that's a topic for another conversation.

An ad is supposed to bring in sales, that's why we run them right?  Well if the ad does not have an action step, something for the reader to do,  how is that even possible?

Spoiler, IT’S NOT!

Force Them To Say Yes

OK, we solved that, now what do we do if that still doesn't work?

The next question you need to ask yourself is, am I asking too much from the reader?

Having a clear point and a call to action is not enough either. If the ask is complicated or extreme they still will not buy either.

We need to craft an offer with a low threshold, something the reader will feel silly for not saying yes to.

Even if they are not ready to buy right now.

That could be something simple like asking them to sign up for a free newsletter. Stop trying to sell hard from the start, slow down build trust with the prospect.

Closing The Deal

Ok, we have them moving along the journey, it is time to build some trust.

This may take some time, but you have an open line of communication with them. Now you can provide free value, or examples of your work, something to prove you can get the job done.

Once they have gotten more familiar with you they will feel more comfortable saying yes to a bigger commitment.

Remember, at this point,  you are just a stranger asking for money.
